Memory cards are high-precision electronic devices. Do not bend them, apply
force to them, or subject them to shocks or vibration.
Do not attemptto disassemble or alter the memory card.
Do notallow dirt, water orforeign objects to contact theterminals onthe backof
the card. Do not touch the terminals with your handsor metal objects.
Do not peel away the odginal label on the memory card or cover itwith another
label orsticker.
When writing on the memory card, do not use a pencil orball-point pen. Only
use a soft point pen (e.g. felt-tip pen).
Do not use or store memory cards inthe following locations.
- Locationssubject to dust orsand
- Locationssubject to high humidity and Ngh temperatures
Since some orall of the data recorded on the memory card may be corrupted or
erased by electrical noise, static electricity or card/camera malfunction, making
a backup copy of important data is recommended.
Please note that formatting (initializing) an memory carderases all data,
including protected imagesand other file types.
You are recommended to use memory cards that have beenformatted inyour
camera.
- Thecard supplied withthe camera may be used withoutfurther formatting.
- When the camera is malfunctioning, a corrupted memorycard might be the cause.
Reformatting the memory card may solve the problem.
- When a non-Canon brand memorycard is malfunctbning, reformatting it may solve
the problem.
- Memorycardsformatted inother cameras, computers, or peripheral devices may not
operate correctly inthis camera. When that happens, reformat the memorycard with
this camera.
If formatting in the camera does not work properly,turn the camera off and re-
insert the memory card. Then turn the camera back on and format again.
