24 hp photosmart 315 digital camera user’s guide
• The camera takes about a second to focus and adjust the exposure when you press the
shutter
button 1/2 way down. Wait until you see the steady green light to the right of
the viewfinder, then press the
shutter
button all the way down to take the photo. If you
are not used to using a digital camera, you may want to practice to get used to the
timing.
• If a blinking green light appears when you press the
shutter
button, the camera cannot
find a focus or there is not enough light to illuminate your subject (or both). Try the
following:
• Make sure you are not too close to your subject and frame your photos with the
desired subject in the center. The camera’s Auto Focus has a range of 30cm
(11.8 in.) to infinity and focuses on the object in the center of the frame.
• If the light on your subject is low, wait for better natural light or use the flash. For
details, see “Using the flash” on page 39.
• Set the camera’s Auto Focus and Auto Exposure using a different subject. First,
frame a subject that is the same distance from the lens and has the same lighting
conditions as your desired subject, then press the
shutter
button 1/2 way down.
Next, keeping the
shutter
button pressed 1/2 way down, frame your desired
subject and then press the
shutter
button all the way down.
