C Functions Available in Movie Recording
Movies are recorded with the same hue adjustment as A (auto mode) in any shooting mode
(A42). Settings such as the hue adjustment in scene mode and Optimize image or White
balance in the shooting menu (A73) are not applied to movies.
When the shooting mode is A, B, C, D or M, the Metering (A85) setting is also applied to the
movie recording (except for Spot AF area).
The focus mode and exposure compensation settings are also applied to the movie that is
recorded. Check the settings before starting to record the movie.
The self-timer (A37) is available. When the b (movie-record) button is pressed after setting the
self-timer, the camera focuses after ten seconds or two seconds, and then the movie recording
starts.
The flash will not fire.
Press the d button before starting to record the movie and switch to the D (movie) tab to select
movie menu settings (A132).
To reduce the effects of camera shake when recording movies, set Electronic VR (A136) in the
movie menu.
