Preset Manual
Preset manual is used under unusual lighting conditions or when the desired effect
has not been achieved with white balance settings like Auto and Incandescent
(for example, to make images shot under a lamp with a red shade look as though
they had been shot under white light).
1
Place a white or gray reference object under the lighting that will be
used during shooting.
2
Display the shooting menu (A74), use the
multi selector to set White balance to
b Preset manual, then press the k button.
The camera lens extends to a position that is half of the
camera's maximum optical zoom.
3
Choose Measure.
To use the most recently measured value for preset
manual, choose Cancel and press the k button. The
most recently measured value will be set for white
balance.
4
Frame the reference object.
5
Press the k button to measure the white balance value.
The shutter is released and the new white-balance preset value is set (no picture is
recorded).
B Note on Preset Manual
The camera cannot measure a white balance value for when the flash fires. When shooting with the
flash, set White balance to Auto or Flash.
