2 Camera Features
You can take beautiful pictures by simply composing your picture and
pressing the shutter release button. To view and edit the pictures you have
captured, just touch the LCD monitor to perform the desired operation. This
section looks at the basics of how to capture, play back, and edit pictures.

Enjoy Taking Pictures
Turn on the camera (p.20) and point it in the
direction of your subject. To prevent camera
shake, hold the camera steady with both
hands.
Compose your shot using the LCD monitor.
You can use the zoom lever to choose the area
you want to capture (p.45).
Lightly press the shutter release button to set
the focus.
The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns
green if the subject is in focus.
• The focus frame does not appear if the subject is
not in focus.
Memo
Lightly pressing the shutter release button is
referred to as pressing it “halfway”. When the
shutter release button is pressed halfway, the
focusing point and exposure (brightness) lock.
When you remove your finger from the shutter
release button, the locked focusing point and
exposure are canceled.
