L
Multi-segment
metering
The camera takes a detailed reading of the overall brightness of
the picture and determines the correct exposure. The camera
can obtain a relatively correct exposure even for complex
subjects with both dark and light areas.
M
Center-weighted
metering
The camera takes a uniform reading of the overall brightness of
the picture with the metering focused at the center of the image.
You can take pictures with the correct exposure for subjects at
the center of the picture even if the surrounding background is
lighter or darker than the subject.
N
Spot AE
metering
The camera determines the exposure by metering only the
objects in the center spot. Use this to obtain correct exposure on
a small part of the image.
