Shooting Mode
Shooting Mode
Choose a shooting mode according to the scene or
type of subject. To select a shooting mode, align the
mode icon with the mark next to the mode dial.
M, A, S, P: Select for full control over camera settings (P 37), including aperture
(M and A) and/or shutter speed (M and S).
Adv. (ADVANCED): Sophisticated
techniques made easy (P 30).
S (ADVANCED SR AUTO): The cam-
era automatically optimizes set-
tings to the scene (P 28).
B (AUTO): A simple “point-and-
shoot” mode recommended for
 rst-time users of digital cameras.
C (CUSTOM): Recall stored set-
tings formodes P, S, A, and M
(P 41).
SP (SCENE POSITION): Choose a
scene suited to the subject or
shooting conditions and let the
camera do the rest (P 36).
Filter (ADVANCED FILTER): Select for
taking photos with  lter e ects
(P 30).
