Focus Mode
Focus Mode
To choose how the camera focuses, press MENU/OK to
display the shooting menu and choose from the FOCUS
MODE options.
The following options are available:

Focus manually using the control ring. Rotate the control ring left to reduce the
focus distance, right to increase. Choose for manual control of focus or in situa-
tions in which the camera is unable to focus using autofocus (P 42). Intelligent
Face Detection turns o automatically.

SINGLE AF
SINGLE AF
Focus locks while the shutter button is pressed halfway. Choose for stationary
subjects.

The camera continually adjusts focus to re ect changes in the distance to the
subject when the shutter button is pressed halfway (note that this increases the
drain on the battery). Choose for moving subjects.

The camera is adjusting focus.
z (glows green)
The camera is able to focus and the focus position is  xed when n is se-
lected.
v (glows green)
The camera is able to focus when b is selected.
R The focus position changes to re ect changes in the distance to the sub-
ject.
A (blinks white)
The camera is unable to focus.
R M is displayed when N is selected for F FOCUS MODE.
