When you press the shutter button, the camera
emits a short beep and takes the picture. The
data is then recorded.

When you press the shutter button, there is a very
short delay before the picture is actually taken.
!
The viewfinder lamp flashes orange while the flash is
charging. If the LCD monitor is switched on, the
screen may go dark for a moment. This is normal
and does not indicate a fault.

The flash charging time may increase when the battery
charge gets lower.

During image recording, the viewfinder lamp
glows orange and you cannot take pictures.
Note also that switching the camera off or
opening the battery cover during image
recording could corrupt the image files.

(ready to shoot).

Recording data to the xD-Picture Card
(not ready to shoot).
Blinking orange Charging the flash (flash will not fire).
Blinking red
ixD-Picture Card-related warning.
The xD-Picture Card is not loaded, is
not formatted, is incorrectly formatted.
xD-Picture Card full. xD-Picture Card
fault.
