Format memory cardsbefore first use,and be sureto reformat all memory cards after using them in acomputer
or other device. Formore information on formatting memory cards,see page 78.
Memory cardsaresmall and carl be swallowed; keep out of reachof children. Ifa child swallows amemory card,
seekmedical assistanceimmediately.
Do not useminiSD or microSDadapters that expose the backof the card. Failureto observe
thisprecaution may causedamage or malfunction. Adapters that arelarger or smallerthan the
standard dimensions of an SDcard may not eject normally; if tile card does not eject, take the
camerato an authorized service representative. Do not forcibly remove the card.
Do not turn the camera offor remove the memory card while tile memory card isbeing formatted or data are
being recorded to or deleted from tile card. Failureto observe this precaution could damage tile card.
Do not affix labelsto memory cards. Peeling labelscarl cause camera malfunction.
Movie recording may be interrupted with some types of memory card.
• The data in internal memory may be erasedor corrupted when the camera is repaired. Pleasenote that tile
repairerwill be able to view pictures in internal memory.
Formatting a memory card or internal memory in the camera createsa folder in which pictures are stored. Do
not rename or delete thisfolder or useacomputer or other device to edit, delete, or rename image files. Always
usetile camera to delete pictures from memory cards and internal memory; before editing or renaming files,
copy them to a computer and edit or rename tile copies, not tile originals.
