To remove protection from all files stored
in the memory card

Press + or to select CANC.ALL, and press
SELECT/SET. The PROTECT screen appears.

Press + or to select EXECUTE, and press
SELECT/SET.
To cancel selection, select RETURN.
Previously stored files can be deleted either one at a
time or all at once.

Load a memory card. (pg. 16)

Set the VIDEO/MEMORY Switch to MEMORY.

Set the Power Switch to PLAY while pressing
down the Lock Button located on the switch.

Open the LCD monitor fully, or pull out the
viewfinder fully.
The type of file (IMAGE or E-MAIL CLIP) which
has been played back at the last time is
displayed.
If you want to select another type of file, go to
step 5.
If not, go to step 7.

Press SELECT/SET. The MEMORY SELECT screen
appears.

Press + or to select the desired type of file, and
press SELECT/SET.

Press MENU. The Menu Screen appears.

Press + or to select DELETE, and press
SELECT/SET. The Sub Menu appears.
To delete the currently displayed file

Press + or to select
CURRENT, and press
SELECT/SET. The DELETE
screen appears.

Press REW (3) or FF
(5) to select the desired
file.

Press + or to select
EXECUTE, and press
SELECT/SET.
To cancel deletion,
select RETURN.
Repeat steps 10 and 11
for all files you want to
delete.
NOTE:
If the “” mark appears, the selected file is
protected and cannot be deleted.
To delete all files stored in the memory
card

Press + or to select ALL, and press SELECT/
SET. The DELETE screen appears.

Press + or to select EXECUTE, and press
SELECT/SET.
To cancel deletion, select RETURN.
NOTES:
Protected files ( pg. 27) cannot be deleted. To
delete them, remove protection first.
Once files are deleted, they cannot be restored.
Check files before deleting.

CAUTION:
Do not remove the memory card or perform any
other operation (such as turning off the
camcorder) during deletion. Also, be sure to use
the provided AC Adapter, as the memory card
may be corrupted if the battery becomes
exhausted during deletion. If the memory card
becomes corrupted, initialize it. ( pg. 30)
