Flash Compensation
Flash compensation is used to alter flash output from the level
suggested by the camera, changing the brightness of the main
subject relative to the background.
Choose from values between
–3 EV (darker) and +1 EV (brighter) in increments of
1
/3 EV; in
general, positive values make the subject brighter while negative
values make it darker.
1 Press the P button.
Shooting information will
be displayed in the
monitor.
2 Display flash
compensation options.
Highlight flash
compensation in the
information display and
press J.
3 Choose a value.
Highlight a value and
press J.
To return to
shooting mode, press the
shutter-release button
halfway.
Normal flash output can be restored by setting flash compensation
to ±0.
Flash compensation is not reset when the camera is turned
off.
