Shooting in Black-and-White: [Black-and-White]
When [Black-and-white] is selected, the options
described below are available.
Choose [Standard] to shoot in basic black-and-white, or
[Custom] to manually adjust contrast, sharpening, and
filter effects. When the [B&W + color] option is enabled
(w), one black-and-white picture and the same picture
in full color are recorded simultaneously.
The following options can be adjusted in [Custom].
D B&W + Color
Color pictures recorded when [B&W + color] is enabled are the same as those shot at an [Optimize
image] setting of [Normal].
Contrast
Same as [Optimize image] > [Custom] > [Contrast] (A 95).
Image sharpening
Same as [Optimize image] > [Custom] > [Image sharpening] (A 95).
Monochrome filter
This effect simulates black-and-white photography
with a color filter.
[Yellow], [Orange], [Red]
Enhance contrast. Can be used to tone down the
brightness of the sky in landscape photographs.
Orange filter results in greater contrast than yellow
filter, and red filter greater contrast than orange filter.
