Troubleshooting
We recommend checking the following items before contacting a service
center.

does not turn
on
Batteries are not

Check if batteries are installed. If not, install

does not
release
The lens aperture
ring setting is other

Set the lens aperture ring to the s position

The flash is
charging
Wait until charging is finished.
There is no
available space on
the SD Memory
Card
Insert an SD Memory Card with available
space or delete unwanted images. (p.41,

Autofocus
does not work
The subject is
difficult to focus on
Autofocus cannot focus well on subjects
that have low contrast (the sky, white walls),
dark colors, intricate designs, rapidly-
moving objects or scenery shot through a
window or a net-like pattern. Lock focus on
another object located at the same distance
as your subject (press the shutter release
button halfway), then aim at target and
press the shutter release button fully.

The subject is not
in the focusing
area
Position the subject in the focus frame in the
middle of the viewfinder. If the subject is
outside the focusing area, aim the camera
at the subject and lock the focus (press the
shutter release button halfway), then
compose a picture and press the shutter
release button fully.
The subject is too
close
Move away from the subject and take a
picture.
