4. Read any installation instructions, Read Me files, or
documentation that comes with the programme. Many
programmes provide special installation instructions.
5. Tap the file, such as a *.xip or *.exe file. The installation
wizard will begin. Follow the directions on the screen.
6. Once installation is complete, tap
Start
→
Programs
,
and then tap the programme icon to open the
programme.
Adding a programme to the Start menu
Once you have installed new programmes, you can add
any of them to the
Start
menu so that you can quickly
open them from the Today screen. You can register up
to 9 programmes in the
Start
menu.
To add a programme to the
Start
menu:
1. From the
Start
menu, tap
Settings
→
Menus
.
2. Select the check box for the programme you want to
add.
If you do not see the programme listed, you can either
use File Explorer on your Pocket PC Phone to move the
programme to the
Start Menu
folder, or use ActiveSync
on the PC to create a shortcut to the programme and
place the shortcut in the
Start Menu
folder.
