26 Trouble-Shooting
Problem Cause Solution
Battery not correctly inserted.
Insert the battery correctly (see
page 9).
Camera cannot be switched
on.
Battery not charged.
Use the mains supply or USB
cable to charge the battery (see
page 10).
The device switches on, but
then switches off again after
a short time.
The battery is not charged
sufficiently.
Use the mains supply or USB
cable to charge the battery (see
page 10).
The camera switches itself
off automatically.
A
uto Off is activated, and the
camera switches off automatically
after a predefined time.
Set Auto Off to meet your
requirements (see page 28).
The ambient temperature is too
low.
Do not use the video camera in
extreme temperatures.
The battery is overcharged.
If the battery only stays
charged for a very short time
after you have charged it, you
must replace the mains
adapter. To do this, contact the
customer hotline (see the back
of the manual).
The battery has exceeded its
lifetime.
Change the battery. To do this,
contact the customer hotline
(see the back of the manual).
The battery runs down too
quickly.
The device has been used too
often as a flashlight (this uses too
much power).
Only use the device seldom, in
order to save electricity.
The camera is not in Capture
mode.
Switch to Capture mode (see
page 11).
Delete data from your storage
medium or transfer data to your
PC (see page 39).
The camera does not take a
photo after the capture
button has been pressed.
The memory is full.
Insert an empty storage
medium into the device (see
page 12).
The lens is dirty.
Clean the lens with a soft, dry
cloth.
The Capture Distance switch is
not in its normal position.
Set the Capture Distance
switch
to its normal position.
The image is out of focus.
The quality is set too low.
Set the quality to “Super” (see
page 15).
The flash is not working. The flash is switched off.
Set the Flash mode to
Automatic” (see page 19).
The date and time are not
displayed correctly.
The date and time have not been
set. The camera uses its standard
time.
