Shooting with
Program Shift
— Program Shift
Mode dial: P
Program Shift lets you quickly change the F
value (aperture value) and shutter speed
combination while keeping the brightness
fixed.
a Set the mode dial to P.
b Shift the F value and shutter
speed combination.
Select the F value and shutter speed
combination with the jog dial
(page 40). is indicated while the F
value and shutter speed combination is
shifted.
To cancel Program Shift
Perform any of the following operations.
Turn the jog dial to return the indication
from to .
Set the mode dial to other than P.
Turn off the power.
You cannot shift the F value and shutter speed
combination when the shutter button is pressed
halfway down.
When the brightness changes, the F value and
shutter speed also change while maintaining the
shift amount.
When the flash mode setting is changed,
Program Shift may be canceled.
You may not be able to shift the F value and
shutter speed combination in dark locations.
Shooting with the

You can manually adjust the shutter speed
and aperture values according to the
purpose of shooting.
