Taking Pictures in B (Auto) Mode
Avoiding Blurred Pictures
If the subject is poorly lit, blur-
ring caused by camera shake
or subject movement can be
reduced by selecting f ON
for the L DUAL IS MODE op-
tion in the shooting menu (pg.
61). The type of blur reduction
can be selected in the setup
menu (pg. 71).
Sensitivity is raised when dual
IS is in e ect. Note that blur-
ring may still occur depending
on the scene.

Best Framing
To display a framing guide
(“best framing”), select ON for
the c FRAMING GUIDELINE
option in the shooting menu.

To use best framing, position the main subject at the
intersection of two lines or align one of the horizon-
tal lines with the horizon. Use focus lock (pg. 29) to
focus on subjects that will not be in the center of the
frame in the nal photograph.
Silent Mode
In situations in which camera
sounds or lights may be un-
welcome, select h ON for the
a SILENT MODE option in
the shooting menu (pg. 61).
