STILL PHOTOGRAPHY FUNCTIONS
Select Macro mode to take close-up shots.
Set the Power switch to “q”.

Set the Mode dial to “B”, “N”, “M”, “<” or “>
mode.

The Macro mode setting changes each time you
press the “e” button.
!
Macro mode is cancelled in the following situations:
i When the Photography mode is changed to “
r” or “?
i When the camera is turned off
!
If the flash is too bright, use flash brightness adjustment
(P.64).
!
If you are shooting in a dark location (when the “|” camera
shake warning icon appears), use a tripod to prevent camera
shake.

E USING AE LOCK
STILL PHOTOGRAPHY FUNCTIONS
Use this function to take pictures with the exposure locked for a particular subject.
Set the Power switch to “q”.

Set the Mode dial to “B”, “?”, “N”, “M” or “<
mode.

Position the subject in the center of the screen and
press the “E” button.
R” appears on the screen and the exposure is
locked while you hold down the “E” button.
!
AE lock cannot be used when Long-period continuous
shooting is selected.
With the “E” button held down, press the
Shutter button down halfway to focus the shot and
then compose the shot again.
!
Once you press the Shutter button down halfway, the
exposure remains locked even if you release the “
E
button.
!
When the AE lock is applied, pressing the Shutter button
down halfway only sets the focus.
