Formatting deletes all the data on the
SmartMedia. If the “7” message appears
on the LCD, wipe the contact area (gold-
colored section) on the SmartMedia
thoroughly with a soft dry cloth and then
reinsert the SmartMedia. If the “7”
message still appears, format the SmartMedia.
