Taking Pictures in Wireless/Remote Flash Mode
The off-camera flash will provide all of the
exposure.
1. Position your camera and 3500xi flash unit using the information
on this page.
• If you are not using the 3500xi flash, refer to your flash instruction manual for the correct
camera to subject and flash to subject distances.
• Calculated for ISO 100 film only.
Press the AE-lock button to test fire the
accessory flash.
3. Press the shutter-release button
all the way down to take the
picture.
2. Wait until both flash units are fully
charged.
• appears in the viewfinder when the built-in
flash is charged.
• When the off-camera flash is charged, its AF
illuminator will blink.
Press the data-panel illuminator when
taking the picture.
Both flashes will fire when the shutter is
release at a 2:1 ratio.
• The built-in flash will provide 1/3 and the
accessory flash will provide 2/3 of the total
exposure.
Wireless/Remote Ratio Flash
Test firing the flash will activate slow-shutter sync (p. 64) if Cust
10 setting 2 is selected.
• Custom 10 setting 1 is recommended.
