Optical Image Stabilizer [STABILIZER]
This mode recognizes and compensates jitter.
You can reduce blurring caused by jitter especially
when you take pictures with the optical zoom set
to Tele or when you take pictures indoors where
the shutter speed is slowed down.

Keep pressing the stabilizer
button until [STABILIZER]
appears and then select the
stabilizer function mode.
Demonstration of the optical image
stabilizer (Demonstration Mode)
When you press the [MENU] button, the
demonstration appears. After the
demonstration ends, the screen returns to
the stabilizer function mode selection
menu. If you want to exit the demonstration
halfway through, press the [MENU] button
again.
While the demonstration is displayed, the
optical zoom is fixed to Wide (1×) and the
zoom function cannot be activated.
Moreover, you cannot take pictures.
• The stabilizer function may not work in the
following cases so take special care not to
move the camera when pressing the
shutter button.
–When too much jitter occurs.
–In digital zoom range.
–When taking pictures while following
subjects in motion.
–When the shutter speed is extremely
slow due to dark conditions or other
reasons.
• In [SELF PORTRAIT] in scene mode
(P69), the stabilizer function mode is fixed
to [MODE2] and the stabilizer function
menu does not appear.
• In motion picture mode [i], [MODE2]
cannot be set.
• This is fixed to [OFF] if you have selected
[STARRY SKY] in scene mode (P68) and
Optical Image Stabilizer menu will not
appear.
