Taking a Closer Look:
Playback Zoom
Press the N button and rotate the main command dial right to
zoom in on the image displayed in full-frame playback or on the
image currently highlighted in thumbnail playback.
The following operations can be performed while zoom is in effect:

command dial can be used to control size
of frame—rotate dial left to zoom out,
right to zoom 36×24 (3 : 2) format images
in up to 27 × (large images), 20 × (medium
images) or 13 × (small images). Release N
button to magnify selected area to fill
monitor.

Use multi selector to view area not visible
in monitor. Keep multi selector pressed to
scroll rapidly to other areas of frame.

Rotate main command dial to view same
location in other images at current zoom
ratio.
