Setting the Capture Functions
Focus Mode
1 Pressing ) in Capture mode will switch focus
modes, and the current setting is displayed on the LCD
monitor.
The camera is ready to take a picture in the set focus mode.
Changing Focus Settings
(No icon) Autofocus mode
Focuses on object in the focusing area when the
shutter release button is pressed halfway. Use
when the distance to the subject is more than
40cm.
q Macro mode
Use when the distance to the subject is 10cm to
50cm. Focuses on object in the focusing area
when the shutter release button is pressed
halfway.

Infinity-landscape
mode
Use for taking pictures of distant objects.
z Manual focus mode Adjust focus manually.
• The focus mode default setting is the Autofocus mode.
• In Movie Picture mode (
1 p.54), only Autofocus mode is available.
• In Picture mode (
1 p.50), Panorama Assist mode (1 p.56), and 3D
