To charge the pre-installed button-type
battery
Your camcorder has a pre-installed button-type
battery to retain the date, time, and other
settings even when the POWER switch is set to
OFF (CHG). The pre-installed button-type
battery is always charged while you are using
your camcorder but it will get discharged
gradually if you do not use your camcorder. The
button-type battery will be fully discharged in
about 3 months if you do not use your
camcorder at all. However, even if the pre-
installed button-type battery is not charged, the
camcorder operation will not be affected as long
as you are not recording the date.
Procedures
Connect your camcorder to a wall socket using
the supplied AC Adaptor or Handycam Station,
and leave it with the POWER switch set to OFF
(CHG) for more than 24 hours.
Removing dust from inside the
viewfinder

Remove the eyecup.
1Remove the screw on the right side of the
eyecup using a screwdriver.
2Slide the eyecup in the direction of the
arrow to remove it.
2 Remove the finder lens block.
1Remove the screw on each side of the
finder lens block using a screwdriver.
2Remove the finder lens block.
3 Remove dust from the finder lens block
with a blower.
4 Reverse steps 1 and 2 to re-attach the
eyecup and replace the screws.
Caution
Do not remove any other screws. You may remove
only the screw to remove the finder lens block and the
eyecup.

• Do not touch the window or lens of the finder lens
block.
• Do not disassemble the finder lens block.
