Microphone type
The microphone connected to the «MIC IN» socket may be electrodynamics or electros-
tatic. The rated input level shall be between - 60 dB and - 40 dB.
In the first case (dynamic microphone), place the «0/48 V» switch on «OFF», and in the
second case (electrostatic microphone), set the «0/48 V» switch to «48 V».
Depending on the sensitivity of the microphone used, the audio level can be adjusted in
steps of 20 dB using the «- 40 dB/- 60 dB» attenuator and gradually using the «SENSITI-
VITY» control (± 5 dB).
Important note: The «REAR CAM/SPLIT HEAD» switch shall be set to «REAR CAM».
The «SLIT HEAD» position is used when the camera is configured with an analysis unit
separate from the camera body and when the ambient microphone is connected to a
separate power pack. In the «SPLIT HEAD» position, the effect of the «SENSITIVITY»
control is approximately ± 1 dB.
