the wide-angle and telephoto ranges.
If the camera’s precise aperture value cannot be
set on the flash unit, then select the one that
comes closest to it. It could prove to be useful to
take test shots with different auto working aper-
tures. Compare the results and then select the
optimal setting for your camera.
Manual flash mode M
Establish the necessary distance to the subject by
selecting a full or partial light output level taking
into acount the lens aperture. Note the distance
indicated on the aperture calculator or the display
given on the LC display of the flash unit!

mode or lens aperture
Auto flash mode
A
Set the camera for Aperture Priority Mode A or
Manual Mode M (see camera manual).
In the aperture priority mode A the camera will
automatically select a suitable shutter speed. In
the manual mode M you will have to set an appro-
priate shutter speed on the camera (see operating
instructions for the camera; e.g. approx. 1/60 s).
Select a suitable aperture on the camera. Manually
set the same value for the auto working aperture on
the slave flash unit. Use a tripod for slow shutter
speeds (slower than 1/30 s) to avoid camera shake.
If the camera’s precise aperture value cannot
be set, then select on the flash unit the one
that comes closest to it. If necessary take test
shots with different auto working apertures.
