Troubleshooting
If an operation does not work
The camera does not turn on or function buttons do not respond.
Possible cause Corrective action Ref. Page
The power is off. Open the lens barrier to turn on the camera. p.17
The batteries are
loaded incorrectly.
Reload the batteries correctly. p.11
The batteries are
exhausted.
Replace the batteries with new ones. p.11
The batteries are
temporarily unable to
function because of the
cold.
The batteries may be too cold. Warm them
before using them.
The camera is in the
sleep mode.
Operate the camera (press the shutter button or
the zoom lever).

There is condensation*
inside the camera.
Wait until the camera dries before turning it on
again.
The camera is
connected to a PC.
The camera will not operate while it is connected
to a PC.
*Condensation: When it is cold outside, the water vapor in the air is rapidly cooled and
turns to droplets of water.
No picture is taken when the shutter button is pressed.
