Purpose
The exposure compensation allows you to deliberately
overexposure (brighten) or underexposure (darken) a
subject, or to compensate for difficult lighting conditions
which may fool the camera’s built-in exposure meter.
To set
1. Turn the exposure compensation dial to the desired
compensation value.
2. The exposure compensation dial locks at the [ 0 ]
position. To set the exposure compensation dial to
a position other than the [ 0 ] position, turn the
exposure compensation dial while holding down
the exposure compensation dial release button.
3. The bar graph indicates the compensation value
and [ ] appear in the viewfinder.
• Exposure compensation does not work in the Bulb
Exposure Mode.
• The exposure compensation range is -3EV to +3EV in
0.3EV step.
• The exposure compensation step can be selected from
initial 0.3EV step to 0.5EV step with the Pentax Function
No.5. See page 79 for more details
• When the 0.5EV step is selected, two bars above the bar
graph indicate a 0.5EV step.
• When exposure compensation is used in the Metered
Manual Mode, the bar above the bar graph indicates
under or overexposure, it is not indicating the exposure
compensation value. [ ] is displayed.
