Connecting the camera to your
computer
Connecting using the serial cable
1 Turn off your camera.
2 Turn off your computer and all its peripherals (scanner,
printer).
3 Insert the round connector on the serial cable (a) into
the digital port on the side of the camera.
Note: Insert the connector straight into the digital port
without twisting, so that the flat side of the connector
(the side with the arrow on it) faces toward the back
of the camera. If you encounter resistance, do not
force the connector, but reposition it and try again.
4 Connect the other end of the serial cable to the serial
port on the back of your computer.
5 Insert one end of the AC power adapter (b) into the
power port on the side of the camera and plug the other
end of the cable into a grounded electrical outlet.
6 Rotate the camera Mode knob to the PC setting.
7 Turn on the camera.
The Status LCD on the camera displays a
PC message.
8 Turn on the computer.
