Using the Time Counter

The time counter is automatically displayed in the viewfinder and shows actual time
elapsed when recording or playing back a tape. It helps
you
locate the end of recorded
segments. For example, to locate the end of a 30-minute recording.
1. Press RESET to set counter to
2. Press F.FWD to fast-forward the tape
“0:OO:OO”
at beginning of segment. until time counter reads
“0:30:00”.

The time counter’s memory stop helps you locate a certain point on the tape.
When
memory stop is turned on, the tape will stop automatically during fast forward or
rewind when the time counter reaches
“O:OO:OOA4”.
Using Memory Stop:
1. Press DISPLAY to turn memory stop
on.

2. Locate the place on the tape you want

to return to and press RESET to reset
time counter to
“0:OO:OOw.
3. Continue to record or play the tape.
When you want to return to the place
you marked, press RECJPAUSE to
stop recording, or press
STOPIEJECT
to stop playback.
4. Make sure POWER is in VCR. Then
press REW (rewind). The tape will
rewind until it reaches the time
counter reading of
“0:OO:OOicf’.
Notes:,
Press
DISPLAY
to turn memory-stop
feature on or off.
Whenever memory stop is turned on, the
camcorder will stop rewinding or fast
forwarding when the counter reaches
“0:OO:OO~‘. To continue rewinding or fast
forwarding the tape, press
REW
(rewind) or
F.FWD
(fast forward) again.
The time counter is automatically reset to
“0:OO:OO”
whenever a cassette is inserted.
If you rewind a tape farther back than a
counter reading of
“0:0&O@‘,
a minus will
appear in front of the time counter.
