Tape Stops During
Rewind or Fast

Checks and Adjustments

l The time counter’s memory-stop feature may be
turned on. When an
“izf’
appears behind the
time-
counter display, the camcorder will stop
rewinding
or
fast-forwarding when the counter reads
“~:~~:~&+f”.
Press the REW (rewind) or
F.FWD
(fast forward)
button again to continue, or press DISPLAY
to
turn
off memory stop.
Camcorder Remains
in Play Pause
Poor Picture Quality
During Recording
Viewfinder Displays are l Try adjusting the eyepiece focus control. Details are
out of Focus
on page 26.
Poor Auto-Focus
Operation
l Make sure FOCUS does not appear in the viewfinder.
Press both
FOCUS
buttons together to turn on auto
focus.
Details are on page 32.
l Subject may be too dark or behind glass. Auto-focus
system may not work under these conditions. Focus
manually. Details are on pages 32-33.
l
Lens may be smudged and image appears unfocused.
l Viewfinder eyepiece focus may be adjusted
incorrectly. Details are on pages 26-27.
l Camcorder is in macro-focus mode. Press and hold
the power zoom button

to release macro-focus.
Poor Picture Quality
During Playback
l Press
RECIPAUSE
to return to normal playback.
l There is insufficient light. Add more light.
l Make sure FOCUS does not appear in the viewfinder.
Press both
FOCUS
buttons together to turn on auto
focus.

Use the color enhancement light to add more light.

l Tape was recorded on a different camcorder or VCR.
If the picture contains black-and-white streaks, press
one of the
TRACKING
buttons to correct.
l Camcorder only has one speed (SP). If the tape was
recorded on a different VCR at a different speed, it
cannot be played back in this camcorder.
