8 COUNTER RES (Reset) and MEM (Memory)
Buttons
Press COUNTER RES to reset the time counter to
0:00:00”.
Press COUNTER MEM during recording to
display amount of recording time left on the tape.
Press COUNTER MEM during playback to turn
memory stop on and off.
Details are on page 33.
9 F.FWD (Fast Forward) Button
Press F.FWD when POWER is in VCR to fast
forward the tape.
During playback or fast forward, press and hold
F.FWD to visually search forward on the tape.
Release F.FWD to return to normal playback or
fast-forward operation.
10 PLAY Button
Press PLAY when the camcorder’s POWER
switch is in VCR to begin playback.

The remote control operates the camcorder by infrared light, so it is protected from electrical and sound
interference. Aim the remote directly at the camcorder’s remote control sensor. There cannot be any
obstructions between them. The remote should operate the camcorder up to approximately 13 feet away.
1. Press on the remote sensor (labeled IR) to
expose it. Point the arrow on top of the sensor
in the direction of the remote. The sensor will
face in any direction.
2. Aim the remote at the remote sensor.
3. When you are finished, press the remote sensor
back down until it locks into place.
Notes: An RCA VCR that responds to the VCR 2 button
on the VCR’s remote may respond to this remote
control.
The camcorder may not respond to the remote if the
camcorder’s remote sensor is exposed to direct sunlight
or strong artificial light.
11 SLOW Button
During playback, press SLOW to begin slow-
motion playback. Press PLAY to return to normal
playback.
12 ZOOM “W” and “T” Buttons
Camcorder’s POWER switch in CAM:
Press “T” to move the lens in the telephoto
(close-up) direction.
Press “W” to move the lens in the wide-angle
direction.
13 START/STOP Button (Same as Thumb Trigger)
Press and release START/STOP when POWER
is in CAM (camera) to start and stop recording.
The tally light will light continuously during
recording.
Remote Sensor
