Trouble Checks (continued)
Poor auto-focus operation
Picture is too dark or
subject too dark.
Viewfinder displays are

Camcorder turns off during

Make sure SCENE SELECT control is in AUTO. See page 31.
Scene is dark. Auto-focus may not work under this condition. See page 30
for details on manual focus.
Lens is smudged, and image appears unfocused.
Viewfinder eyepiece focus is misadjusted. See page 25.
Select the best SCENE SELECT mode for the recording situation.
See page 31.
Try adjusting eyepiece focus control. See page 25.
Pull electronic viewfinder out to the extended operating position.
The delicate B and C controls on the side of the viewfinder may need
adjustment. Carefully adjust these small controls with a plastic
screwdriver.
Date and time or date will be recorded on tape whenever they appear in the
viewfinder.
Press DATE button to remove them from viewfinder when recording.
Clock cell may need replacing. See page 24.
Date and/or time may need to be set. See page 24.
Press on remote sensor to expose it and aim arrow on top toward remote.
Aim remote at remote sensor on camcorder. See page 17.
Remote must be within 13 feet from the camcorder to operate it.
Remote control cell may need replacing. See page 18.
If POWER switch is in CAM, the ON/POWER SAVE lever must be in ON
for camcorder to operate.
POWER switch must be in CAM or VCR for camcorder to operate.
Camcorder’s remote control sensor is exposed to direct sunlight or strong
artificial light. This may interfere with operation of camcorder by remote.
POWER switch must be in CAM.
If POWER switch is in CAM, the ON/POWER SAVE lever must be in ON
for camcorder to operate.
To record from AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks, AV IN/OUT switch located under
AV TERMINAL cover must be in IN position.
To record from AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks, press REC button under
viewfinder on camcorder (or REC button on remote). Thumb trigger and
START/STOP button will not operate camcorder.
Camcorder remained in record pause for five minutes. Press thumb trigger
or place ON/POWER SAVE lever to POWER SAVE and then to ON.
Battery needs recharging.
