Manually Setting Image Characteristics
The ISO speed, contrast, sharpness and saturation settings can be adjusted for shooting.

In the [ (Rec.)] menu, select one of the above items.

Select a value for the item and press the
button.
ISO speed
• Switch speeds when you are shooting in dark areas
or want to use a fast shutter speed.
• You can select from 50 (default setting), 100, 200,
400, 800 (only for PowerShot S30) and AUTO.
• When AUTO is selected, the camera automatically
adjusts ISO between 50 and 150 only.
• Higher ISO speeds increase the image noise. To take
clean images, use as low an ISO speed as possible.
Contrast
• Select from - (Weak), 0 (Neutral) and + (Strong).
• This function allows you to adjust the degree of
brightness.
Sharpness
• Select from - (Weak), 0 (Neutral) and + (Strong).
• This function allows you to adjust how sharply
outlines are defined.
Saturation
• Select from - (Weak), 0 (Neutral) and + (Strong).
• This function allows you to adjust the color
depth.
