Using the GPS Function

Turning the GPS Function On
Display the [GPS Settings] screen.
z Press the n button to choose [GPS
Settings] in the 3 tab, then press the m
button.
Choose a setting.
z Press the op buttons or turn the  dial
to choose [GPS], then press the qr
buttons to choose [On].
z When you press the n button, a
message about the GPS function will
appear on the screen. After checking the
message, press the m button.
z Press the n button to return to
Shooting mode.
Check the reception status.
z Press the l button to enable
information display (p. 44).
z You can check the GPS reception status
displayed on the screen.
Reception Status Display
(Displayed) GPS satellite signal received. The camera’s positioning data or the
shooting date can be recorded.
(Flashing) Searching for GPS satellite.
(Displayed) Cannot receive GPS satellite signal.
What if appears on the screen and you cannot receive a
GPS satellite signal?
It is easier to receive a GPS satellite signal if you
use the camera outside, where the sky is clearly
visible. Make sure your fingers or other items are
not blocking the GPS signal receiver and point it
toward the sky and signal reception may
improve.
