Security Windows
Security Windows
The Security windows provide options for stopping IP camera processes, configuring administrator and
root password requirements, and enabling access to the IP camera through HTTP or Secure Shell (SSH)
connections.
The following sections describe the Security windows in detail:
• Initialization Window, page 3-25
• Complexity Window, page 3-26
Initialization Window
The Initialization window lets you configure administrator and root passwords, whether the IP camera
can be accessed through an HTTP connection in addition to the default HTTPS (HTTP secure)
connection, and whether the IP camera can be accessed through a SSH connection.
Table 3-13 describes the options in the Initialization window.

Option Description
Zoom Controls the lens zoom to change the field of view. Move the Zoom slider to
the left for a wider field of view and to the right for a telescopic field of view.
Note We recommend that you avoid overusing the zoom control. It is rated
for 1,000 actuations (500 zoom Wide/Tele cycles) and overuse may
eventually leave it inoperable.
Focus Controls the lens focus to achieve a sharp image. Move the Focus slider to
the left to focus on objects close to the IP camera and to the right to focus on
more distant objects.
Note We recommend that you avoid overusing the focus control. It is rated
for 1,000 actuations (500 focus Near/Far cycles) and overuse may
eventually leave it inoperable.
Reset Resets the lens position and slider bar positions to the following default
values:
• Zoom: Near
• Focus: Full wide
Click the Reset button to reset to zoom and focus settings to their factory
default values.
