CONNECTING THE REMOTE CONTROLLER
Check that the camera is switched off.
1Connect the remote controller unit to the
5REMOTE socket on the camera.
2Connect the headphones (provided) to the
remote controller.

The remote controller can only be used with this
camera.
!
Third-party headphones (with 3.5 mm dia. mini plug)
can be used in place of the headphones provided.
You cannot listen to music through the
camera speaker. You must connect the
remote controller and headphones.
SELECTING MUSIC MODE
1By sliding the Power switch to the 6
position, you can use the camera as an audio
player. The camera switches on when you
play back music.
2If you do not want to listen to music, move the
Power switch back to its original position.

Once you set the Power switch to 6, the
FinePix50i will not function as a camera.
To listen to music
You must first download music files (MP3
files) to the camera. Refer to the Software
Quick Start Guide (provided).

The Music section describes how to use the remote controller to listen to music and also introduces
the other functions that can be used from the remote controller.

i Do not use while moving.
Never attempt to use the headphones or remote controller or look at the LCD display while you are driving a car or other
vehicle as this could cause a traffic accident. If you are using the FinePix50i as a music player while walking, pay close
attention to traffic around you and to the pavement surface.
i Do not listen to loud music for long periods and do not turn the volume up high when you first start listening.
Long and continued exposure to loud noises can impair your hearing. Note also that sudden loud noises can damage
your ears. Consequently, you should take care to increase the volume gradually.
