U SET-UP
Initialize (format) the xD-Picture Card or internal memory
for use with the camera.
CAUTION
• The Format function erases all the frames (files),
including protected frames (files).
Back up important frames (files) onto your PC or
another media.
• Do not open the battery cover or slot cover during
formatting, as formatting will be interrupted.
When this function is active and the camera remains
unused for 2 or 5 minutes, it turns camera off.
Use this function when you want to get the maximum
possible running time from your batteries.
CAUTION
The Auto power off function is disabled during automatic
playback (➝p.100), discharging rechargeable batteries
(➝p.159), and when a printer or a PC connection
(➝p.136, 146) is being used.
MEMO To restore power to the camera
Refer to “Turning On and Off” (➝p.24).
