Freeze-Frame Stepping,
Forwards or Reverse*
Press the
K
button during playback (playback pause).
By turning the jog knob you can view the previous or the fol-
lowing individual freeze-frames step by step (see illustration).

Depending on the direction in which you turn the knob, you
can select the previous or the following freeze-frame.
Press the

button to switch back to playback.

Changing the Slow-Motion Speed,
Forward or Reverse*
During playback, turn the shuttle-ring to switch to forward or
reverse slow motion.
Turning the jog-knob reduces the slow motion speed (see
illustration).
The following appears in the display of the recorder:

Depending on the direction in which you turn the knob, the
slow motion speed increases or decreases.
By turning the shuttle-ring you can set any desired slow-
motion speed.
Press the

button to switch back to normal playback.

Fast Tape Wind
Press the
`
button.
At the beginning or end of the tape, the recorder switches to
stop. Terminate tape winding with the
`
button.
Locating a Certain Tape Position/
GO-TO Function
This function allows you to automatically wind the tape to a
certain position.
There are two ways of doing this:
by entering the playing time, or
by entering the tape position.
Go-to by entering the playing time
If the tape position is displayed, switch to the playing time
display by pressing the
o
button.
Press the
k
button. You will see this in the display of the
recorder:
»GOTO«
and "–––".
Now enter the desired playing time as three digits with the
numbered buttons

, then press the

button.
Example:

button, enter the playing time (e.g. 48 min-
utes) with the numbered buttons

When the last entry is completed, the tape is wound to the
respective position and playback is started.

Locating a Certain Recording/
Automatie Programme Finder (APF System)
This system allows you to locate the beginning of any of your
own recordings quickly and accurately.
For this, electronic "marks" (VISS marks = Video Index
Search system) are automatically placed at the beginning of
each of your own recordings.
The "marks" can be entered as one or two-digit numbers.
Example:
The tape is wound to the beginning and you wish to see the
5th recording. Press the
k
button, then the numbered but-
ton
5
for the fifth mark, and then turn the shuttle-ring to the
right.
You will see this in the display of the recorder:
»APF «
.
The tape is automatically wound to the beginning of the 5th
recording and playback is started there.
If you wish to see the 3rd recording – related to the beginning
to the tape – after the 5th recording (= 6th mark), then you
must go back 3 recordings (= 4 marks) by pressing the
k
,
button, then the numbered button

For selecting the playing time with non-standard hours-
