White Balance
Choose your lighting
condition.
This setting remains until
you change modes or turn
off the camera.*
AUTO (default)—automatically corrects
white balance. Ideal for general picture-taking.
WEAK AUTO—without adjusting the white
balance, retains the color makeup of the light
source and creates pictures with atmosphere
(available only in Custom mode).
DAYLIGHT—for taking pictures under bright
sunlight.
OPEN SHADE—(available only in Custom
mode) for taking pictures in shadows.
FLUORESCENT—prevents the picture from
being greenish under fluorescent lighting. Ideal
for indoor pictures under fluorescent lighting
without flash.
TUNGSTEN— prevents the picture from being
reddish under household light bulbs. Ideal for
indoor pictures under tungsten or halogen
lighting without flash.
MANUAL (M)—set the white balance
manually (available only in Custom mode).
