Troubleshooting
External flash does not fire Turn on the flash unit.
Insert a charged battery.
Storage location is almost
or entirely full
Transfer pictures to the computer (page 19).
Delete pictures from the card or insert a new one (page 17).
Change image storage location to internal memory (see
table on page 50).
You cannot take a picture
Turn the camera off, then on again.
Depress shutter button all the way (page 5).
Insert a charged battery (page 2).
Memory full. Transfer pictures to the computer (page 19),
delete pictures from the camera (page 17) or card, change
image storage location, or insert a new card.
Error message appears on
EVF/LCD screen
Turn the camera off, then on again.
Follow action recommended on screen, record error number,
if displayed; then turn camera off, then on again.
Remove memory card from the camera and/or download
pictures, then format the card and try using the card again
in the camera.
Remove the battery and wipe the contacts with a clean, dry
cloth (page 86). Reinstall the battery.
If all else fails, get customer support help (see page 76).
Memory card not
recognized or camera
freezes with card.
Card may be corrupted. Format card in camera (see page 4).
Data will be erased if formatted.
Use another memory card.
