No sound when the shutter
is released.
Off is selected for Shutter sound in the
setup menu. No sound is heard with some
shooting modes and settings, even when On
is selected.
The speaker is blocked. Do not cover the
speaker.

AF-assist illuminator does
not light.
Off is selected for the AF assist option in the
setup menu. AF-assist illuminator may not light
depending on the position of the focus area or
the current scene mode, even when Auto is
selected.

Images appear smeared. Lens is dirty. Clean lens. F6

Randomly spaced bright

Shutter speed is too slow or ISO sensitivity is

Using flash
Specifying a lower ISO sensitivity setting

mode, the In-Camera Red-Eye Fix processing
may be applied to areas not affected by red-eye.
Use any scene mode other than Night portrait,
and change the flash mode to any setting other
than
b
(Auto with red-eye reduction) and
try taking an image again.

Skin tones are not softened.
Under some shooting conditions, facial skin
tones may not be softened.
Select Skin softening in the retouch menu
for images containing four or more faces.
