,
film
can be
placed
into the
strip
film
holder
. Position the
desired
frame
so
that
it
aligns
with the
window
in the
film
holder
.
Only
one
frame
of the
strip
film
can be scanned at a
time
.
To
scan
more
than one
frame
, the
film
must be
repositioned in the
strip
film
holder
.

Positioning the film
in
the holder
There is one
window
on the
strip
film
holder
as shown
in
Figure
4.
11.
The
film
that resides in this
window
will
be
visible
to the scanner
for
scanning. Therefore, it is
necessary
to
align
the
desired
frame
of
film
with this
window when positioning the
film
in the
holder
.
Film
strips
are
typically
limited
to six frames because of
the depth restrictions of the scanner. No film can extend
out the
front
of
the
strip
film
holder. Due to the length of
the
strip
film
holder, no
more
than
two
frames can
reside
in
front
of the
desired
frame
.
It is
therefore
necessary to position the film in the
scanner
so no
more
than two frames
are
to the
front
of
the
window
in the
strip
film
holder
.
As with
slides
, the
emulsion
side
of the
strip
film
should
be face down in the
strip
film
holder
so that it
will
also
be face
down
when inserted in the scanner.
