Copying Image Files to Disk
Before copying image files to disk, locate or create the destina-
tion folder. To copy image files to disk, select the image files
you wish to copy by clicking their icons (you can select mul-
tiple files by holding down the shift key while clicking each
image file in turn), then drag any of the selected icons over the
destination folder and release the mouse button.
Because the camera functions as a “read-only” volume, image files can only
be copied from the memory card to disk, not moved, even if the option
key is not held down.
All image files captured with the camera are assigned file names in nu-
merical order beginning with “DSCN0001.JPG” (or “.TIF” or “.MOV”).
Likewise, all image files saved in folders in the camera’s memory card are
assigned file names in numerical order beginning with “DSCN0001.JPG”
(or “.TIF” or “.MOV”). Thus, to prevent overwriting when copying an im-
age file to disk, change the filename after copying the file, or create a new
folder for each camera folder.
