Connect the camera to the USB port on your Macintosh, as
described in the documentation provided with your
COOLPIX digital camera.
The camera will be mounted automatically if:
The computer is running
Nikon View has been properly installed
The camera is on
A compact flash-memory card is inserted in the camera

If you are mounting the camera using the settings in effect during the
previous session, you do not need to open the Nikon View Control win-
dow. If you change settings while the camera is mounted, these changes
will be applied the next time you mount the camera.
When the camera is mounted, the Nikon E990 camera
icon will appear at the right side of the desktop, along with
the icons for other drives.

The borders of the shutter-speed/aperture display in the camera’s control
panel flash on and off in a “marching ants” marquee while the computer
communicates with the camera. The display continues for up to sixty
seconds after the transfer of data is complete. Do not disconnect the
camera until the borders of the display stop flashing. (The data-transfer
display varies according to your camera model.)
