The flash discharges automatically depending on the
light conditions.

Flash Off
The flash does not discharge, regardless of the
brightness. Use this mode to take pictures where flash
photography is prohibited.

Flash On The flash discharges regardless of the brightness.

Flash On + Red-eye
This mode reduces the phenomenon of red eyes
caused by the light from the flash being reflected in the
subject’s eyes. The flash discharges regardless of the
light conditions.
• The flash does not discharge (a ) in C (Movie) mode, or when the
drive mode is set to j (Continuous Shooting), or the focus mode is set
to s (Infinity).
• A pre-flash discharges when using the red-eye reduction function.
•In 9 (Green) mode, you can only select , or a.
•In A (Night Scene) mode, you cannot select ,.
•In B (Night Scene Portrait) mode, or when the Face Recognition is set
to On and the flash is set to ,, the flash mode will automatically
change to d when a face is recognized.
• Using the flash when capturing images at a close distance may cause
irregularities in the image due to the light distribution.
• Pixel Track SR does not operate when the flash discharges.
