Taking Pictures
● Remote control unit battery service life
Up to approximately 30,000 signals can be sent to the camera
from the remote control unit. Contact your nearest Pentax service
center when battery replacement becomes necessary.
Zoom on the remote controller
The zoom can be changed using the
remote control E (optional).
If you press the Zoom button on the
remote control unit, the zoom will switch
from [Wide] to [Tele] to [Middle].

Using the Remote Control Unit (optional)
You can take pictures using the remote control F (optional).
z
Set the mode dial to or in Capture mode.
x Press the button to display
on the LCD monitor.
The self-timer lamp will blink and the
camera is ready to take pictures.
c
Press the shutter release button on
the remote control unit.
The self-timer lamp will blink rapidly and the picture will be
taken after approximately three seconds.

• The buttons on the camera can be used in the same way.
• Please ensure that the remote control unit is no more than 5
meters away from the front of the camera.
• To take a picture immediately after pressing the shutter release
button on the remote control unit, press the button in step
x to display on the LCD monitor.
• When the digital zoom function is enabled, the digital zoom can
not be operated with the remote control unit, but the digital
zoom can be operated by pressing the Zoom button on the
camera. However, the camera will revert to optical zoom mode
by pressing the Zoom button on the remote control unit.
• The powersaving function can be operated (the self-timer lamp
will also go off).
