Problem Cause Solution
Camera will not
turn on
Battery is not installed
Check if a battery is installed. If not,
install battery (p.15).
Battery is installed
incorrectly
Check orientation of battery. Reinsert
battery (p.15).
The battery is exhausted Charge the battery (p.14).
The battery performance
has temporarily
deteriorated because it is
too cold
Warm up the battery by placing it in a
pocket where it can come in contact
with body heat.
No image on LCD
monitor
Camera is turned off Turn the camera on (p.20).
Camera is connected to a
computer
The LCD monitor turns off when the
camera is connected to a computer.
Camera is connected to a
TV
The LCD monitor turns off when the
camera is connected to a TV.
Display mode is set to Off
Touch the LCD monitor to change the
display mode setting (p.41).
Power Saving function
has activated
Deactivate by pressing the shutter
release button halfway in Capture
mode.
Image is displayed but is
hard to see
Increase the brightness of the LCD
monitor (p.162).
Shutter will not
release
Flash is charging
Pictures cannot be taken while the
flash is charging. Wait until charging is
finished.
No available space on SD
Memory Card or in the
built-in memory
Insert SD Memory Card with available
space or delete unwanted files (p.17,
p.102). Change the picture size or
quality or both and try again (p.54,
p.108).
Recording Wait until recording is finished.
