Recording
Dew Warning ( )
The dew indicator appears when
excessive moisture (condensation)
has entered the camcorder. The
camcorder will not operate when
this indicator appears. Place the
camcorder in a warm, dry area until
this indicator disappears.
Tape Length
The tape length (T20, T30, or T40)
selected with the Tape Length
feature on the recording menu
appears here. Details are on
page 47.
Cassette Warning
•The indicator appears when a
cassette is in the camcorder.
• The indicator flashes when the
POWER dial is set to CAMERA and
there is no cassette in the
camcorder.
Audio Dub
appears during audio dubbing.
Details are on pages 70-71
• The pause indicator ( ) appears
with when the camcorder is
paused during dubbing.
Elapsed Time-Counter
The time counter appears during
playback. It is not recorded.
• An “M” appears in front of the time
counter when memory-stop is on.

Manual Focus Indicators ( )
These indicators appear when focus
is adjusted manually using the
FOCUS or button. The mode
select dial must be in MANUAL.
• Manual focus lock indicators ( )
appear when focus is moving
toward near or far.
• Low-contrast indicators ( )
flash when the auto-focus system
cannot focus properly.
• Details are on pages 38-39.
Exposure Indicator
This indicator appears when you are
adjusting brightness manually using
the FRONTLIGHT or BACKLIGHT
button. The mode select dial must
be in MANUAL. Details are on
page 37.
White Balance Indicators
If you adjust white balance
manually, the indicator (MWB,

select appears here. The mode
select dial must be in MANUAL.

Lithium Cell ( )
• This indicator flashes for a few
seconds when you first turn on the
camcorder and the time and date
have not been set.
• This indicator also appears when
the clock cell is missing or it needs
to be replaced.
